Grandvalira
Grandvalira is a ski station, located in the Principality of Andorra. It is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees with 193 km of tracks. Currently has 6 different access to tracks along the main road or highway of France 2, following the river Valira East.
Grandvalira was formed in the winter of 2003 as a result of the merger of Pas de la Casa - Grau Roig and Soldeu El Tarter. In 2007 Pas de la Casa - Grau Roig marked the 50 anniversary. In 1956 Francesc Viladomat installed the first ski lift at the foot of Coll Blanc, which could carry 450 skiers per hour. This ski lift was later absorbed by Saetde Viladomat. Thus, the station was joined to the Circus de Pessons and to the area Cortals d'Encamp.
The first artificial snow cannons were installed in 1985 and in 1997 the first six-seater chairlift (also first in the Pyrenees).
