The Raïm winery (aka. Cubano) is one of the oldest bars in Barcelona. It was opened in 1886 and was a dining room of the factory that can be still seen at the end of the Siracusa street. In 2002 it was overtaken by Gabriel and Simón who gave it its actual mexican style. Currently is well known of its marvellous mojitos (5€).

Although the name seems to indicate that it is a wine bar (Raïm is a grape in catalan language), in reality it is a Cuban-style, or rather habanero bar.

In Raïm you can listen to the best Cuban rhythms: Salsa, Trova, Son, etc. The bar is decorated with photographs of characteristic places of the city of Havana: el Malecón, el Capitolio, las bicitaxis, el Vedado, old streets and dozens of photographs of famous Cuban, not excluding Ché. For those who have been to Havana will be especially interesting the map before the revolution of this city.

Founded in 1886 by a citizen of Barcelona who probably returned from Cuba. Much time has passed but the bar has maintained a connection to Havana: the marble tables, chairs, wood furniture, lighting and a party atmosphere.

You do not need to travel thousands of miles to take a great mojito in a 100% Cuban.

Niest... rating 1 rating 2 rating 3 rating 4 rating 5 2011-10-16 21:18:31
