Arts Hotel
The Arts Hotel is one of the two tallest skyscrapers in the city of Barcelona, together with la Torre Mapfre, located a few meters further. They form a symbolic gateway to the Olympic Barcelona from the Olympic port and were built for the Olympic Games of Barcelona 92. This symbolic meaning refers to the Venetian Towers in Plaza de España.
The Hotel was designed by architect Bruce Graham of Skidmore Owings Merrill Architects (SOM Architects). It is one of the first buildings totally designed with the usage of computers.
The rectangular building is 154 meters high what makes it one of the tallest ones in Barcelona. The feature which makes it even more distinctive is its white polychrome-coated façade creating blue-green reflexes.
The building houses many apartments which contain two or three rooms. Most of them have a view of the sea or the mountains. It is equipped with a variety of extra attractions like swimming pools, terraces, SPA, a gym, a restaurant and conference rooms. On higher floors of the hotel is located a club for VIPs and the most prestigious hotel guests. This 5-star hotel was created in 1994 and is a member of the exclusive Ritz-Carlton chain.
