What is tower? (construction)
elevated structure above the ground, built by man for various purposes. Currently towers are used for technological purposes or as skyscraper-type buildings but formerly often used as defensive structures. It is considered that a building is actually called tower when it reaches over ten floors and its geometric structure is more like a prism or cylinder than a rectangle.
