Toledo Cathedral
Toledo Cathedral is one of the prime Gothic works in Spain. It was founded in 1226 by King Fernando III el Santo and the Archbishop Ximénez de Rada. Its construction lasted from the 13th to the 15th centuries, with Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical additions. It includes a vast museum complex with several special rooms: the treasury, (remarkable 16th century professional monstrance by Enrique de Arfe), the Chapter House, the Choir and the Sacristy (outstanding art gallery: Lucas Giordano frescos, El Grieco, Rapheel, Titan, Rubens, Van Dyck, Bassano, Caravaggio, Zurbarán, Rizzi, ...) besides costumes and Decorative Arts, and textile pieces. Main Chapel, Bell Tower and cloister are recommended.
