Palace Theatre

The Palace Theatre is a West End theatre in London, located in the district of Westminster, at the junction of Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road. It has a capacity of 1,400 people and specializes in music and dance performances.

The Palace Theatre was inaugurated in 1891 as the Royal English Opera House and later it was renamed Palace Theatre of Varieties, until finally, in 1911, it was given its current name, The Palace Theatre.

The building of the theatre was designed and built by Thomas Edward Collcutt. It has a characteristic façade made of red brick. In June 1960 the theatre was added to Grade II* listed buildings by English Heritage.
