Mozes en Aäronkerk in Amsterdam
The Moses and Aaron Church (Mozes en Aäronkerk) is a church located in Waterlooplein in the city of Amsterdam.
It was at the location of Jewish philosopher Benedict Spinoza's birth in the 19th century. It has a long and interesting history. It once served as a secret Catholic church for franciscan monks when Catholic religion was persecuted, and apparently Liszt played his favourite concert here in 1866. The current building was designed by Tilman-François Suys between 1837-1841.
The Moses and Aaron Church is no longer used as a house of prayer, but now functions as a venue for meetings, memorial services and recitals.
