Mossen Costa i Llobera Gardens

The Gardens of Costa i Llobera Mossen am located in the mountain Montjuïc in Barcelona. Is one of the three gardens dedicated to Catalan poets.

The garden was created in honor of the Catalan poet Mossen Costa i Llobera. Was founded by Joan Panella y Bonastre, professor of the "La Escuela de Jardinería de Barcelona" (the gardening school in Barcelona) and Joaquim Maria Casamor in the middle of the 20th century. In the garden are mostly cactuses, succulents, xerophytes and other similar thermophiles species. The Gardens of Costa and Llobera Mossen are considered as one of the largest gardens of its kind in the world. It contains over 800 species of tropical plants and palm, among which are numerous sculptures. From the gardens, terraces and slopes spread out spectacular views on the sea and port.
