Montjuïc Cable Car
The Montjuïc Cable Car is located on the Montjuïc mountain in Barcelona and allow people to access the Montjuïc Park from the port, at the same time offering superb views over the city. It connects the port with the Tower of Puerto Jaume I.
In 2007, the cable car was modernized for security reasons so that the vehicle was enclosed by a roof.
It has three main stations, one of which is connected with the Montjuïc funicular, which is linked with the Barcelona metro at the Liceu station and the Line 2
Although the main function of the cable car is to provide easy access to the Montjuïc mountain while allowing people to admire a magnificent view over the city, it also offers distinctive cuisine which can be enjoyed in the cabins at a cost of about 40-80EUR for a meal, depending on whether it is shared by 6 people or just one couple. In the summer months, one of the attractions provided by the Barcelona beer company Moritz is the so-called Picnic at cel ("Picnic in the sky" in Catalan) which offers the opportunity to order a meal inside the cabin and enjoy it during the trip over the city.
