It is fitted with the only 12.1 sound system in the world, designed by Cabasse. After a similar venue located in La Défense closed in 2001, La Géode became the only spherical building in the Île-de-France region of France. La Géode is a sphere with a diameter of 36 metres, consisting of 6433 steel triangles. It cost 130 million francs to build. The films are projected on IMAX format on the giant half-spherical screen.
