Estació de França
Estació de França is a train station is located in Barcelona, near Parc de la Ciutadella.
It was built as the so-called 'iron architecture', one of the modernist tendencies. It was the last station in Europe to be built with such characteristics and is currently preserved because of its historical and artistic value.
The station was built over an old existing station by Pedro Muguruza and Raimon Duran i Reynals with its majestic vestibule welcoming travellers. The whole station is built of fine materials like marble or bronze with decorative glass. Access to the platforms is created as a large metallic U-shaped structure, almost 30 meters high. With 12 tracks and platforms it is considered to be one of the most beautiful train stations in Spain.
