Wełna church (Kościół pw. Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego) is a wooden temple built in the beginning of 17th century. It has a form of Latin cross with nave and transept. The paintings that adorn walls and the altar were created by the Franciscan from Poznań - Adam Swach. They show scenes related to the legend and cult of the Saint Cross. The oil paintings on pews (a long bench), stalls, doors to sacristy, pulpit and confessional were made by artisans.
Worth an emphasis are the covered ambulatory around the nave and the arcades called in Polish 'soboty'.
On 11th of August 1780 in Wełna's church Józef Wybicki (composer of the polish national anthem) married Estera from family of Wierusz-Kowalski.
