Collegium Minus de la Universidad Adam Mickiewicz

Collegium Minus of University Adam Mickiewicz - historic, neo-Renaissance building, located within the Imperial Quarter of Poznan near to Mickiewicz Square.

The property was built for the Royal Academy in 1909 and designed by Edward Fürstenau. The ceremonial opening took place on January 18, 1910. Today it houses mainly administrative departments of the university.

The elevation is dominated by two powerful porticos with high peaks. Round tower from the side of railway station, was built as a platform for astronomical observatory. Inside of the Small Hall, on the central wall, you can find a copy of the Jan Matejko's painitng Założenie Akademii Lubrańskiego (the original can be found at the National Museum in Poznan).

In the neighbourhood you can find Iuridicum College, Academy of Music and the Imperial Castle and the monuments: Victims of June 1956, and Adam Mickiewicz. Inside of the building there is also a concert hall with perfect acoustics used on special occasions.
