Domenico Ghirlandaio - biography

Italian painter of the Quattrocento period, representative of the Florentine school. Often he painted aristocratic portraits of aristocratic, characteristic for Florentines' painters where they have often used a profile shot. Although he painted portraits his main works are frescoes in different buildings, just as Palazzo Veccio o Santa Maria Novella in Florence or the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
