Teatre Nacional de Catalunya
Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (National Theatre of Catalonia) is known in short as the TNC is located in Barcelona, near Plaza de las Glorias and the famous Torre Agbar.
Built in 1996, was designed by architect Bofill Ricado in neo-classic style with postmodernist elements. The theatre is located in the centre of the Plaza de les Arts, as a separate building.
It has three main rooms, main hall, Petit's Living Room and workshop in a room decorated in Catalan style and Small Living Room with workshops. Teatre Nacional de Catalunya has an on-going program. Performances are mainly plays in Catalan because it is funded by the public theatre of the Generalitat the Catalunya (Catalan Government), whose one aim is to spread and promote the Catalan culture.
