Golferichs' House
Casa Golferichs (Golferichs House) is a modernist building located on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, number 491, inside the Eixample district of Barcelona.
It was built in 1901 by architect Joan Rubio i Bellver in what was one of his first professional assignments after the request of Macari Golferichs, a civil engineer who worked in sales of exotic wood in South America. The promoter wanted to create a villa in the heart of the Eixample to stand out from the rest of surrounding architecture. In fact the house is a gem, made of stone, brick, ceramics and exotic wood that stands out from other buildings in the area.
Nowadays Casa Golferichs is a cultural center with exhibitions, music performances and different cultural events.
